Your talented mums join a cohort of aspiring construction leaders participating in engaging workshops and 1:1 leadership coaching.
Your talented mums gain leadership knowledge and skills, with time to practice and support to embed their new leadership toolkit back in the workplace.

Get the funding
As your aspiring leaders complete each module, their progress is logged on the Construction Training Register.

We process the claim and you receive your CITB grant contribution back into your CITB account.

INSIDE Leadership skills
The construction leadership skills we teach through INSIDE Leadership are delivered through six modules. Each module features an online workshop and an Action Learning Set.
As each module is completed, progress is recorded on the Construction Industry Training Record.

Fully funded places are available for CITB Registered organisations in England and Wales.
Identity & Self Awareness
This first module supports aspiring construction leaders to explore their leadership identity, strengths and values. They will learn how to make mum-brain a leadership advantage and reflect on their own performance.
Nurturing Relationships
In this module aspiring construction leaders explore communication styles and preferences. Learning how to use neuroscience backed techniques to nurture effective working relationships.
Setting a Vision
Visionary leaders understand the process of change and can support and inspire others. In this module aspiring construction leaders learn how to solve problems, make improvements and inspire and motivate their team.
Inspire & Motivate
Your aspiring leaders get to grips with the neuroscience of motivation and reward and explore the characteristics of great construction leadership.
Developing Key Skills
Develop a neuroscience backed toolkit of leadership skills. Learn how to set targets, increase team performance, build resilience and thrive in your leadership role.
Embracing Diversity
This module will support you to dig deep and learn the skills you need to build inclusive teams and create belonging.

WORK BASED APPLICATION

INSIDE Leadership is a 12 month development programme for mums who aspire to step into leadership roles in UK Construction. The programme is delivered with a blended learning approach.
With bite-size online learning modules, engaging workshops and 1:1 leadership coaching and opportunities to network. Your talented mums have plenty of time to practice and support to embed the knowledge, skills and leadership tools back in the workplace.
Delivered virtually the programme is designed to fit into a busy schedule. There are six half day workshops supported with evidence based practical tools and strategies. The programme also includes Action Learning Sets providing peer support and learning challenge and 1:1 coaching sessions with an accredited leadership coach.

Why is it just for mums?
It's just for mums because - becoming a parent shouldn't be a barrier to success but right now it still is.
There are 32% fewer women in leadership roles after starting a family (Careers After Babies, 2023) and the WHO suggest that the motherhood penalty makes up 80% of the gender pay gap.

INSIDE Leadership focuses on the transition to working motherhood and into leadership. Matrescence - becoming a mother - impacts every aspect of our identity including how we show up at work. Bringing with it some incredible leadership benefits but also a whole new set of challenges to overcome.
In fact 77% of mums report experiencing a negative or possibly discriminatory experience during pregnancy, maternity leave and/or on return from maternity leave.
INSIDE Leadership provides accessible online workshop sessions to equip aspiring leaders with the tools and confidence to lead their teams and to influence and inspire others. Creating a safe space learn tried and tested techniques to overcome the unique challenges faced by mums in leadership.
It also acknowledges the extra shift and provides the tools and tactics needed to balance work, family and space for ourselves.
Research shows the benefits of having a sate environment for women to explore their potential, share successes and failures, and receive feedback, mentoring and coaching. That's why the programme includes both group and 1:1 coaching.
Traditional learning environments can be hard to access - especially if you are the default parent.
So INSIDE leadership is all online and scheduled with school friendly session times, in term time only, with no lengthy assignments to complete!
Regardless of your route into parenting (or how long you've been a mum), INSIDE Leadership is for anyone who holds the incredible title of mama / mum / mummy / *bruh (how does that even happen!!) who is an aspiring leader.
